T'challa N. Pinkard

Chief Operating Officer

My Hands Your Heart, LLC is pleased to have Mr. T’challa N. Pinkard, born in Brooklyn, New York. He has been a customer service leader for organizations for over 30 years. He has a history of being rewarded for excellence in Customer Service, Customer and Employee Retention. The reward has come in ways such as corporate recognition, increased retention, reduced loss and increased repeat clients. With his skills, he has taken multiple companies from the red to the black saving time and finances by improving training and team building. He is a recipient of multiple awards in recognition of his customer service and management. Profit loss decrease of approximately 15-21% per employer and an increase of customer satisfaction ratings as measured by surveys.

As Chief Operating Officer of My Hands Your Heart, LLC, he oversees the day-to-day administrative and operational functions of the business. He is the husband of Visionary, Founder and CEO, P Lanette Pinkard. They have a blended family of seven children, 18 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Melissa Lockley

Administrative Assistant/Team Interpreter

Melissa Lockley (Lisa) was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. Most Lisa’s interpreting experience has been as a volunteer interpreter in the Deaf community, church and freelance interpreting for the past 8 years. She also has a passion for theatrical interpreting. As the administrative assistant for MHYH, she works on project management, coordination, and everything flowing smoothly as the Administrative Assistant.

Lisa is also serves as President of NAOBI-NYC and has previously held positions as Vice President and Member-at-Large. 

Lisa has recently completed all requirements for her Master of Arts in Liberal Studies from Lehman College in New York City and will cross the stage in May 2020. Her interests include  community involvement, traveling, and reading.

Scott Merk

Administrative Coordinator of Deaf-Blind Services

Scott Merk has achieved his National Interpreting Certification (NIC) and holds an Associate Degree in Sign-language Interpreting, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master's of Business Administration Management. He is a perfect addition to MHYH and functions as the Administrative Coordinator for the Deaf/Blind travelers. Scott is passionate about accessibility and truly finds joy in making travel accessible to the Deaf Community; he specializes in Pro Tactile for the Deaf/Blind Community which is a language that the Deaf-Blind community embraces and benefits from to enjoy the world around them.

Kendra D. Thompson

Staff Coordinator/Lead Interpreter

Kendra Thompson has been a certified ASL interpreter for over 20 years. She received her formal training at Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan where she obtained her Certificate in American Sign Language. As an ASL Interpreter, Kendra has worked in an array of settings ranging from primary to post-secondary education, local and national conferences, video relay and cruises to name a few. Kendra has gained a wealth of knowledge by being involved with the Deaf community in her extensive travels. She assists with coordinating and training. Her customer service skills will make you feel like you are the VIP of the century! Kendra credentials include: Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID) and North Carolina Interpreter & Transliterator Licensing Board (NCITLB). Kendra currently resides in Greensboro, North Carolina with her husband David.

Emilio Garcia

Video Tech Specialist/Team Interpreter

Meet MHYH's Video Tech Specialist! Emilio Garcia is originally from New York and has always had a passion for communication. Growing up as a child of Deaf adults (CODA) inspired him to pursue an interpreting career in American Sign Language (ASL). After graduating with a bachelor’s in communications, Emilio focused his work in ASL Video Translation for three years. Emilio also has an extensive background in national education interpreting with his Educational Performance Assessment certification and worked diligently in Public education reform. Emilio has enjoyed a variety of work opportunities afforded him including the Philadelphia School District, National Education Reform, multiple theatrical and musical projects, travel and community work.

His favorite setting for work tends to involve stage, music, classrooms and/or a passport. After 4 years of professional interpreting, he looks forward to serving the Deaf Community even further, opening the doors of accessibility!

P Lanette Pinkard


Lanette is a child of Deaf adults (CODA) who has been in the sign-language interpreting profession for 40 years. In addition to her Bachelor's degree and honorary Doctorate for her work in the field, she is nationally certified having earned the National Interpreting Certificate-Master level. (NIC Master). Lanette's mission and passion is in unifying organizations with the Deaf Community, through professional American Sign-language Interpreters who provide excellent customer services along with facilitating communication. Her love for people, her commitment to unity and customer service has made incredulous advancements in the industry so that the Deaf Community receives maximum enjoyment and an ultimate experience during their travel experiences. This has resulted in high retention, ongoing requests with reoccurring customers for the travel organizations.
